On February 26, 2025, the National Library of Public Information (NLPI) and the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at NLPI, reaffirming their long-standing collaboration. Since its inception in 2016, this partnership has spanned over eight years, and with the new agreement, it is set to extend for more than a decade, establishing a significant milestone in Taiwan’s science popularization efforts.
The MOU was signed by NLPI Director Hsiang-Ping Ma and NARLabs President Hung-Yin Tsai. Leveraging NLPI’s extensive knowledge-sharing platform, digital reading resources, and diverse reading spaces, the Library will incorporate research outcomes from six NARLabs research centers, focusing on three key areas: Earth environment, information and communication technology, and biomedical technology. Through this collaboration, the two institutions will continue to promote scientific knowledge under the theme"Scientists' Secret Base @ Taichung," inviting the public to explore the marvels of technology firsthand at NLPI.
First Exhibition: Exploring Seismic Technology and Building a Safer Future
Following the MOU signing, NLPI and NARLabs have co-established the "Scientists' Secret Base @ Taichung" exhibition space. The first exhibition, curated by the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering, will feature"Secrets of Earthquake Engineering – How to Build Safer Structures." The exhibition will open on March 18 at NLPI’s 2nd-floor mini exhibition space. Stay tuned for more updates!
