The building of Jing Wu Branch next to Taichung Park was established in 1972. At first, it is the main library of Taiwan Provincial Taichung Library, and National Taichung Library. It becomes Jing Wu Branch of National Library of Public Information on January 1st, 2013, after the new main library was built. In order to solve the issue of manpower as well as achieving the policy objectives set by the library when it was first established, collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Department of Taichung City Government began on November 1st, 2015, and the management of the library turned over to the Taichung Public Library. In order to improve our reading space and service quality, a renovation of interior space began on July 12, 2016.
After a one-and-half-year renovation, Jing Wu Library reopened on February, 1st, 2017. The library space consists of four floors. The first floor has a lively and spacious children's area and a comfortable senior area. On the second floor, there is a literature area, a youth area and an outdoor reading area. The third floor is a general collection area and a multicultural collection area. On the fourth floor, there is a large lecture hall to hold various lectures and reading promotion activities.
