The National Library of Public Information (NLPI), recognized as the most comprehensive tech-voc (technical and vocational) education resource and experience platform in central Taiwan, is once again bringing exciting career exploration opportunities to youth this summer. In collaboration with National Formosa University and 13 universities of science and technology in central Taiwan, NLPI has launched the 2025 Tech-Voc Carnival: Discover Your Future: Thrive through Tech-Voc Exploration, a week-long event held from July 11 to July 19.
 
This initiative unites 8 universities of science and technology and 9 vocational high schools, delivering more than 56 hands-on workshops. Junior high and high school students, as well as individuals aged 18 and above, are welcome to register for free and join the festivities. The annual summer tech-voc carnival at NLPI aims to immerse students in engaging, interactive experiences that blend learning and fun. Participants will gain practical insights into a wide range of occupational fields, helping them shape their future career paths.
 
As the largest summer vocational exploration event in central Taiwan, this year's carnival features a variety of creative booths designed by local technical institutions. Highlights includeTaichung Home Economics and Commercial Senior High School’s (TCHCVS) “Bilingual Summer Cool Drinks,”Taichung Industrial High School’s “Electric Warmth with Copper” circuit workshop,Chienkuo Technology University’s “Aluminum Wire Jewelry DIY,” andWufeng Agricultural and Industrial’s “Culinary Tabletop Art.” All are designed to let attendees experience firsthand the practical appeal of tech-voc education.
 
In addition, two distinguished guests will share their journeys of success through tech-voc education: pop-up book artist Ying-Wen Lu and fashion industry consultant Ting-Hua Kuo. Their personal stories and professional insights will help students see the real-life value of developing technical skills and spark deeper reflections on their own future goals.
 
Visitors are also encouraged to explore the permanent exhibition on NLPI’s 3rd floor: “Brave Technicians: Rift Challenge”, an immersive storytelling installation that links creative narratives with tech-voc knowledge across different disciplines. It serves as an ideal one-stop introduction to the world of tech-voc, combining knowledge and imagination.
 
NLPI continues to lead the way in offering diverse tech-voc education programs, making it the premier resource center for hands-on learning in central Taiwan. This summer, we welcome students, teachers, parents, and the general public to experience the practical, innovative, and future-ready world of tech-voc education.
