The National Library of Public Information (NLPI) has received a one-year public screening license for National Geographic, donated by the Taiwan Energy Efficiency Association. The platform offers nearly 80 internationally acclaimed documentaries covering topics such as nature and ecology, climate change, earth sciences, and human stories. These films will be freely accessible online to the public, promoting environmental sustainability education and encouraging audiences to appreciate the diverse dimensions of ecology and humanity through audiovisual learning.
To express its gratitude, NLPI held a donation ceremony on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the library’s 5th floor. The event was hosted by NLPI Director General Ma Hsiang-Ping, who will accept the donation on behalf of the library and present a certificate of appreciation to the Taiwan Energy Efficiency Association.
Director General Ma expressed sincere thanks to the Taiwan Energy Efficiency Association and Wisdom Win Distributor Co., Ltd. for their generous support in making this collaboration possible. She noted that the inclusion of National Geographic enriches NLPI’s digital audiovisual collection and provide the public with more diverse and inspiring learning resources—opening a window to explore the world and bringing knowledge into people’s daily lives and learning environments anytime, anywhere. This initiative also aligns with the government’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering public understanding of the interconnectedness between the natural environment and human society, thereby advancing the values of sustainable development together.
The National Geographic will be available to NLPI readers from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026. Readers can access the content both on-site and remotely from the main and branch libraries, with up to 20 concurrent users supported. By logging into NLPI’s E-Resources System ,users can freely enjoy these world-class ecological documentaries.
