《Introduction》Have you ever been captivated by the melodious songs of birds in the forest, yet wondered which bird was singing? Birds have evolved remarkably complex vocalizations, and each sound may carry its own specific purpose and meaning.
This lecture invites participants to move beyond visual observation and explore the fascinating world of bird sounds from a professional perspective. Using the calls of common bird species from Taiwan and around the world, the session will explain the fundamental differences between “songs” and “calls,” while also introducing species known for duet singing and those capable of mimicking sounds to deceive or blend in.
In addition, the lecture will recommend essential modern bird-identification tools, helping participants discover that bird sounds are not merely background noise, but important keys to understanding and interpreting the natural world.
