I come from the far north~Taiwanese Salamander 2.0
Hits:179
《brief introduction
In the mountainous areas of Taiwan, there is a kind of small animal that walks slowly and has a strange appearance. They appeared on the earth billions of years ago. They have seen dinosaurs dominate the world and even experienced the mass extinction of dinosaurs and the birth of humans.
Taiwan is not large in area, but after a long period of evolution, there are currently 5 endemic species of salamanders on the island. They live in mountainous areas with medium and high altitudes. Taiwan, with its many mountains, has become the southernmost boundary of the distribution of salamanders in the world, and is also the only group of the genus Hystrix distributed in the subtropics.
A major discovery made by the academic community recently is that two endangered salamander species had their names misplaced for a long time because the type specimens used to name them were lost a hundred years ago. The names were only corrected and renamed a few days ago. How to distinguish these two types of salamander that have finally been "properly named"? Why was the name misplaced in the first place? This is a very long story... Let the director tell the story
