ALA與IFLA年會背景及參加目的
ALA簡介
美國圖書館學會(American Library Association. 簡稱ALA)創立於1876年，擁有近6萬2千名會員，是全球歷史最久與規模最大的圖書館非營利組織；其宗旨在領導圖書資訊服務與圖書館專業的發展、推廣及提升，並為全民提供強化與持續學習的機會，確保資訊取得的服務。每年舉辦各種會議、講座及展覽，讓全球會員、館員及相關專業人士透過各種形式的交流與討論，持續學習、建立專業人脈與網絡，並探索嶄新的專業產品與服務。
每年六月舉辦年會，在美國東西岸重要城市舉行。年會安排超過300以上場次不同主題活動，包括大會開幕及閉幕式、專題研討、名人專題演講、教育訓練、討論會、論壇、圓桌會議、海報展、商展、廠商產品介紹、圖書館相關機構參訪、交流活動。
IFLA簡介
國際圖書館協會聯盟(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions，簡稱IFLA）成立於1927年，事由聯合國教科文組織（UNESCO）資助的非營利組織。總部位於荷蘭海牙的皇家圖書館，是目前全球最大的圖書館聯盟，其成員來自約150餘個國家超過1,600個單位，IFLA旨在維護圖書資訊專業人員及其服務對象的利益。每年在不同國家的重要城市舉辦年會，安排200場以上的相關主題活動，包括大會開幕及閉幕式、專題研討、特邀專題演講、教育訓練、討論會、論壇、海報展、商展、廠商產品介紹、圖書館及文機構參訪、文化之夜、IFLA專業委員會、常務會議、理事會以及各部門、分組與各委員會的行政與專業相關會議，涵蓋的主題與活動項目相當多元。
參加目的
自2012年起，本館每年均派員出席ALA及IFLA年會，作為同仁專業訓練的一環，旨在增強專業知識和國際視野。透過參加兩大圖書資訊專業組織的年會、華人圖書館協會會議及文化交流活動，我們了解圖書資訊界最新發展趨勢，以借鏡他人之長。透過投稿論文及海報，參與年會發表，向國際同道分享本館及公共圖書館創新服務作法和成果，增進各國圖書資訊界對本館及臺灣公共圖書館的認識與了解，提高國際能見度。此外，我們也配合大會及中華民國圖書館學會安排的參訪行程，參訪當地圖書館，以了解舉辦城市當地公共圖書館的發展情況。
參加會議及參訪圖書館重點
由於ALA及 IFLA每年年會均安排200場以上的主題活動，因此在有限時間內，本館參加人員專注於以下主題：資訊科技的應用、圖書館的經營、分齡分眾的讀者服務、館藏的發展與管理、以及創意閱讀推廣與行銷。
本館參加國際會議入選海報
本館積極參與國際會議，強調對全球學術合作的熱切追求，同時促進與不同國家同儕機構的連結，期待提升本館的國際知名度，同時也促進與國際學界的互動，進而推動學術合作與知識共享。歷年參與成果如下：
