This lecture is authorized by the lecturer and will be broadcast live online.《Introduction》"Southeast Asia" is a place that is closely related to Taiwanese society, but often feels a bit unfamiliar.
Maybe sometimes you want to get to know someone properly, but you have the trouble of not knowing where to start. Perhaps you have tried to learn about it, but got lost in tourist books about food and fun. Well, this lecture will introduce books and bring together many scholars to give in-depth and easy-to-understand introductions, which may be the starting point for you to understand Southeast Asia.
The introduction to this lecture will be accompanied by photos from the book to illustrate how Southeast Asia has evolved from modern times to the present. What is the historical and cultural connection with Taiwan? Are there any political, economic and trade relations between the two? How to understand the characteristics of Southeast Asia, such as rainforest ecology, Chinese community, and fish sauce culture?
