The reading space of the Belgian Corner showcases various elements of Belgian culture. For instance, the furniture incorporates the black, yellow, and red colors of the Belgian flag, arranged in vertical and horizontal patterns to create a unique aesthetic with geometric and streamlined designs. Given that Belgium is home to the Euro Space Center and the headquarters of the European Union, the center’s art installations draw inspiration from these institutions. A polygonal three-dimensional frame, designed in the blue and gold colors of the European flag and adorned with twelve five-pointed stars representing the people of Europe, displays a model of the iconic red-and-white checkered rocket from the Belgian comic series The Adventures of Tintin (*Les Aventures de Tintin et Milou*), specifically from Destination Moon (*On a marché sur la Lune*). This highlights Belgium’s rich cultural heritage.
Several partitions feature Belgian illustration posters and street photography, with one particularly striking partition embedding a floating rock—a design concept inspired by The Castle in the Pyrenees (*Le Château des Pyrénées*), a masterpiece by Belgium’s renowned surrealist painter René Magritte. This adds a whimsical and imaginative touch to the space.
